The "Magic triangle" of car tires

In contrast to the carbon black systems in use at the time it was developed, together with highly dispersible silica (HD silica) Si 69^® was able to expand the “magic triangle“, according to which key characteristics like rolling resistance, wet traction and abrasion resistance can be optimized only under mutual impairment—improving one characteristic meant ruining another. Si 69^® makes it possible to completely improve rolling resistance and wet traction without having a negative effect on abrasion resistance and, therefore, the life of the tires.
