Tires for safe driving and reduced fuel consumption

REDUCED FUEL CONSUMPTION AND BETTER DRIVING SAFETY ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE SILICA/SILANE-SYSTEM IN TIRES

Carbon black was the dominating reinforcing filler for tire compounds for almost a century. The substitution of the carbon black by the Silica/Silane-system in tread compounds, in combination with a specific polymer blend, provides significant improvements in rolling resistance and wet traction. Hence, in comparison to carbon black filled tread compounds reduced fuel consumption and improved driving safety can be achieved.

Today the majority of OE passenger car tires from European production are equipped with a highly dispersible (HD) silica and bifunctional rubber silanes.
